This work attempts to convey the issues of rigid categorization of things; not everything fits into neat black and white categories. Inspired by the transversality nature of electro-magnetic energy, here the artist establishes rules, then immediately breaks them. Note the white lines - are they boundaries, or paths? Then we see the black lines - all but invisible against the dark background, but providing structure and an underlying strength, amidst the universal energy that surrounds us all.
This work is created with acrylic paint and vinyl tape on a stretched canvas. It was completed in 2026 in the artist's studio in Garland, Texas.
